We are an industrial
design firm, can you give me an example of what you can do for us?
Lets
say your client wants you to design a new PC Tower Case. You
as an industrial designer would provide the concept designs and
models that are beautiful, appealing, unique, attractive, etc.
If you go a step further, you would also provide the 3D mechanical
design. With that you will need some support on material
selection, manufacturing processes, tooling cost and design, and
overall product cost estimate.
For
example, your client might require that the finished product for a
certain annual quantity should not exceed a total cost of $20
(including tooling amortization, shipping, etc). That is where
we can help provide these estimates to you or your client.
Sometimes the
client is not interested in manufacturing the product themselves
because it might not be their core product or competency.
They want a 3rd party to actually manufacture the product.
Here, we can bid on manufacturing the product using our network of
subcontractors that we developed over the years.
Agency arrangement:
The company is also engaged as a Commission
Agent for a number of reputed manufacturers in Asia and USA.
Orders are procured on behalf of
companies in
the consumer products and electronics industry and passed on to
subcontractors for execution. The company acts as the liaison, looking after
the interests of both the supplier and the customer. By working as the
agent, the customer gets a choice of materials at the best possible
prices. It is also ensured that their requirements are supplied in
time. The supplier
also deals with only one party, instead of various companies to whom it
may be supplying its products.
By dealing with the Agent, the customer
and the supplier are benefited by:
- One point of contact
- Best possible prices
- Liaison at minimum cost to the
customer and supplier
- Timely payment and/or execution of
orders
- Complaints, if any, are sorted out by
the agent, to the satisfaction of both the parties
- The cost to both parties by way
of pay-out is negligible as compared with the services provided.
